G.B.H.

GBH was a television play written by Alan Bleasdale exhibited on Channel 4 in the summer of 1991. Even the protagonists were Michael Murray, the Militant employees pioneer of a town council in the North of England and also Jim Nelson, the headmaster of a school for troubled children. The show was controversial partly because Murray seemed to be based on Derek Hatton, former Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council -- in an interview in the G.B.H. DVD Bleasdale recounts an accidental interview with Hatton before the string, that indicates he has caught end of Bleasdale's intentions but does not mind for so long as the actor playing him is"handsome". In normal parlancethe initials"GBH" refer to the offender complaint of grievous bodily harm - yet, the actual purpose of the letters is it is supposed to stand for Great British Holiday.
