The Golem: How He Came into the World
Enduring under the tyrannical rule of Rudolf II in 16th-century Prague, a Talmudic rabbi creates a huge warrior to protect the safety of his people. Sculpted of clay as well as animated by the mysterious keys of the Cabala, the Golem was an apparently unbreakable juggernaut, doing acts of excellent heroism, yet just as capable of dreadful physical violence. When the rabbi's assistant takes control of the Golem and attempts to use him for self-seeking gain, the lumbering monster runs rampant, snatching the rabbi's little girl and also setting fire to the ghetto.
